What Happens in Hong Kong, Stays in Hong Kong

And that’s the sad truth. As much as I would like to spend more time eating in Hong Kong, I know it only stays there. You can’t really get it here.

But I digress. Luckily, on the weekend that I was there, the Lam Kwai Fong Beer Festival was happening. I absolutely abhor going to a place with a crowd, but I don’t get to attend a beer festival in another country that often.

So, before that, it was another food frenzy. Something simpler, such as these:

If I remember correctly, this is 滑蛋虾仁饭. Or literally translated to Smooth Egg with Prawn Rice. And it was great. More so because I was damn hungry after a long walk from the ferry terminal back to Central.

I forgot what this is called. But it’s essentially toasted bread with condensed milk. So sinful, yet so delightful.

Ok, so I said I don’t like crowds. I still don’t. And the crowd at the Lam Kwai Fong Beer Festival was horrible. Abysmal. Scary. I’m running out of words to describe it.

The face says it all.

It was fun though. Five full days of food, shopping, gambling and drinking. 吃喝嫖赌. Fulfilling three out of four of these vices ain’t easy, but it’s worth it.

There was a lot of “we” being mentioned here, right? Yeah, I wasn’t alone during the Hong Kong trip. The Hong Kong trip happened because I was actually in Beijing on a work trip. And since it’s just a three hour flight, I figured, why not? Just pay a bit more for a transfer flight to Hong Kong, started asking around for some old friends to visit Hong Kong. In the end, it was just me, and:

Hahaha, tak glam, I know. But I didn’t have any other photos, so forgive me, David. :D

And the truth is, the real purpose for the Hong Kong trip is to visit:

Mr. and Mrs. Han, who have been great hosts during my five days in Hong Kong.

Ok, that’s all for the major blog update over herehere and here.

It’s back to the usual micro-blogs such as Twitter, Plurk and Facebook for now.
