A year has passed since I gotten myself involved with one of the biggest mobile communications trade show, otherwise known as CommunicAsia.
A year ago, it was just me, myself and an intern. The bulk of it, was done by me though.
In 2009, I’m glad that I was vested with the power to activate my colleagues to assist with the coverage. Through it all, I’ve seen a few things that left a deep impression of the people I work with.
Of people, who went to enjoy a trip, and made themselves unavailable to work, thus having the full burden of me being the head honcho once again.
Of people, who pulled through and helped me out in times of need, to cover certain areas of work which could have cost me more hours in the office, such as now (yes I am still in the office, doing work and checking video footages as I type this entry).
Of people, who braved the crowds with me to get work done and in turn, earn my respect.
Of people, who use meetings as a reason, skip backbreaking events and thus earn my contempt.
Of people, who are assholes and make snide remarks about the videos we do, and hinting that we aren’t doing enough to catch up to the competition.
Of people, who will step up to defend and recognize our efforts for all the late nights and if you’re wondering how many late nights, a lot.
Monday – 2am
Tuesday – 11pm
Wednesday – 11pm
Thursday – Still in the office, reaching the midnight mark
I’ve been saying this, and I’ll say it again – your colleagues will either make your work a pleasure, or a living hell. I’m glad to have more of the former than the latter.
I hate colleagues
